522 Change // Rebuilding

Sometimes God calls us to do what seemingly makes no sense at all. In accomplishing the impossible through us, God illustrates himself. We are a blank canvas... an unwritten story. He fills us with purpose. We are a city in ruin, but he rebuilds us. He restores our walls.

" 'Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.' I also told them about the gracious hand of my God upon me..." Nehemiah 2:17-18

Our first of many changes will come through taking on what seems to be the impossible task of restoring a home. Just like Nehemiah, we know the gracious hand of God is upon us. The decision was not made lightly, as we've been in prayer and fasting for change for quite awhile now.

In a miraculous 52 days, Nehemiah and the Jewish people rebuilt the city walls, and in doing so, demonstrated the mighty hand of the Lord. The accomplishment could not be explained without credit to God. It truly was an impossible task that required fervent prayer, diligent work, steadfast faith, and most of all, God's help every step of the way. That's exactly what we face as well. We have to make this move within a very small time-frame. Much of the work will be done by just us and family members. We have very little money... actually we have no extra money at all. Our budget is to spend as little as possible and use whatever we can that is graciously given to us. Spending too much means a normal monthly expense is sacrificed, and that's not an option.

Ultimately, the goal is to rebuild our lives and to give God all glory.
